It is with a mix of admiration and gratitude that the entire Raheny GAA family acknowledge the retirement of Rob Hennelly from inter-county football.
Rob has had a remarkable career with Mayo, spanning thirteen years, and we were delighted to welcome him into Raheny GAA in January 2023 as our No.1.
Rob's journey with Mayo has been nothing short of extraordinary. He has been a steadfast presence between the posts, known for his resilience and skill. One of the highlights of his career was his crucial role in the 2021 All-Ireland semi-final, where his late retaken '45 forced extra-time against Dublin, showcasing his composure under immense pressure.
Throughout his career, Rob has accumulated numerous accolades, including seven Connacht SFC medals and two National League titles. His dedication and performances have earned him the respect and admiration of fans and teammates alike.
As Rob transitions into this new chapter, we are thrilled to have him as part of our parish. His experience and passion for the game will undoubtedly inspire and benefit our club. Evident, when Rob volunteered to manage our u21 football team this year.
Robs contributions to Gaelic football is to be celebrated and we look forward to future success in the Raheny colours.
