Family Fun Day Recap – A Day to Remember!
On Saturday August 17th, 2024 the Clubhouse and Scoil Assaim pitch came alive with the sound of laughter, excitement, and the spirit of community as families gathered for the much-anticipated GAA Family Fun Day!
The event was a huge success, bringing together people of all ages for a day of games, activities, and good old-fashioned fun.
Our younger athletes were the true stars of the day, showing off their incredible skills and sportsmanship in games such as Hurling Golf, Penalty Shoot-out and Obstacle courses. From football to hurling, the kids gave it their all, impressing everyone with their talent and enthusiasm. It was truly inspiring to see such dedication and passion on display from our future GAA stars!
But it wasn't just about the games – there was something for everyone. Whether it was 3-legged race, face painting, or sack races, there was plenty to keep the whole family entertained.
And of course, a special guest made a surprise appearance: Banana Man himself! He brought lots of smiles and added an extra layer of fun to an already fantastic day.
The Fun Continued Back at the Clubhouse!
After an action-packed few hours on the pitch, the fun didn’t stop there! Back at the clubhouse, families were treated to more excitement with garden games on the Astro, where kids and parents alike played giant Jenga, connect 4, and other games that kept everyone on their toes.
The custom-designed Aunt Sally Board was a big hit, with photos galore capturing the joy and laughter of the day.
Adding to the lively atmosphere was the vibrant Clontarf Ukulele Band, whose colourful outfits and tunes set the perfect tone for the afternoon.
Kerrigan's Butchers evoked much joy with their classic Burger, Hot Dogs, & Chicken paired with Crispy golden Chips that satisfied even the hungriest of attendees, with their outstanding food becoming a highlight for many.
The crowd really gathered around the dunk tank, with kids lining up for their chance to dunk their favourite mentor! Cheers and laughter echoed as mentor after mentor was sent splashing into the water, much to the delight of the younger crowd.
As evening rolled in, the festivities ramped up with a fantastic round of Music Bingo, where Mam’s, Dad’s and Kids alike brought their A-game! The dance-offs had everyone cheering, with the highlight being the epic 'Mammies Dancing Train' snaking its way through the club! Super prizes were won throughout the night, adding to the excitement.
As the evening drew to a close, the clubhouse remained buzzing, with wonderful live music in the bar setting the perfect backdrop for conversations and laughter.
It was a day full of fun, food, and unforgettable memories – a true testament to the amazing spirit of our GAA community.
A big thank you to everyone who came out to support the event. We look forward to making even more memories together at future events!
Days like these are what make our GAA community so special, and we can't wait to do it all again next year!
A Heartfelt Thank you to Our Amazing Volunteers
We couldn’t have asked for a better day, and its all thanks to YOU – our wonderful volunteers!
A special mention to Tom Reynolds, Ciaran Dunne, Keith O’Sullivan, Colm Farrelly, Andrew Murphy, Andrew Dowling, Eoin Gillen, John Hanrahan, Kevin Gillen (Principle Scoil Assaim), Bryan Maher & Connell O'Brian (Display Contracts) and Dublin Fire Brigade. Your time, energy and dedication made this event a resounding success.
We had over twenty-five teenage volunteers who ensured everything ran smoothly from the games on the pitch to the face painting and the Tuck shop. The Funday wouldn’t have been possible without your generous spirit and warm smiles. You are the heart and soul of this event and we are incredibly grateful for your support
